"Evonna Yimminy, President of the Women’s Athletic League of Liverpool, was in the crowd when Hannah was trying her skill at “mini boarding” and was so impressed with her enthusiasm that she invited her to sign up for the “Fun over 50 Roller Derby and Pickle Festival.” Hannah had always heard great things about the event and, since she didn’t know how to make pickles, she decided to enter the derby. By the end of the day, Hannah was the one who was impressed, when 80 year-old Zelda Konickowitz retained her “Roller Derby Queen” title. She invited Hannah to join her and the rest of the “girls” for celebratory root beer and chocolate covered pickles. Hannah was amazed with the athletic abilities of her newfound friends, but never did develop a fancy for chocolate-covered pickles."
